State Run Media

State Run Media is a simple blog about a complex problem. The founding fathers intended the press to inform everyone about the activities of their elected officials. They intended for individuals to be able to speak out against their government and to foster an atmosphere for the free flow of ideas.

The founding fathers understood that in order for the type of freedom they proposed to last they would need to include some safeguards. The bill of rights as it exists in a specifically spelled out and detailed form, is due to the fact that states demanded that certain rights be specifically explained.

However, the government with the support of other organizations and with the support of today’s media outlets have fostered an aura that the government has a responsibility to impose itself in key areas of our lives. While the constitution emphatically states that any power not directly delegated to the government is reserved for the people. This simply means that the government has an operating boundary that it must conduct itself in.
